Edward (ED) C. Miller Jr., 84 years old of Lake Worth, FL, passed away early Sunday morning, October 9, 2016 after a long medical battle after heart related surgery back in February 2016.
Ed spent his youth growing up during the Second World War in various towns in Michigan and western New York, wherever his father (Edward C Miller, Sr.) was working for Ford Motor Company as branch engineer. He graduated Dearborn High School in Michigan in 1950 and then attended college at the University of Michigan before transferring to the University of Miami (FL)...

Edward (ED) C. Miller Jr., 84 years old of Lake Worth, FL, passed away early Sunday morning, October 9, 2016 after a long medical battle after heart related surgery back in February 2016.
Ed spent his youth growing up during the Second World War in various towns in Michigan and western New York, wherever his father (Edward C Miller, Sr.) was working for Ford Motor Company as branch engineer. He graduated Dearborn High School in Michigan in 1950 and then attended college at the University of Michigan before transferring to the University of Miami (FL) where he graduated with a degree in Industrial Engineering. As a young man, Ed spent 2 years in the United States Navy and served on a US warship throughout the Asian seas and the Pacific. He was honorably discharged in December 1961.
He married Marie Lillian Cizmar on April 17, 1963 and they resided in Bedford, Ohio for several years. They were blessed with a daughter, Lynn Marie Miller, and they later moved to Macedonia, Ohio where Ed worked at the Ford Motor Cleveland Stamping Plant as a purchasing manager.
As Ed liked to say, "I have sand in my shoes" so he then moved Marie and Lynn to Cooper City, Florida in 1978. He was an association manager at Rock Creek development in Cooper City until he retired in the mid 2000's.
Ed was known as "Travelin' Ed" and "King of the Road" due to his love of RV'ing and traveling. He travelled in his RV for the last 10 years throughout the United States. His summertime residence was Franklin, North Carolina and he wintered at John Prince Park in Lake Worth, Florida. He also took several trips to Europe and especially loved Germany and Vienna. Ed made several friends while travelling that he held dearly close to his heart besides family.
He loved college football and basketball. His favorite teams were the University of Michigan and the "U" (University of Miami, FL). He also loved spending time with his family watching, especially NFL football, and "hanging with friends". His greatest joy was his two grandchildren- Lauren and Zachary Bruckner.
Ed was predeceased by his wife, Marie Lillian (Cizmar) Miller who passed away in 1985 and who he is now spending eternal happiness in heaven.
Ed will be extremely missed and is survived by his daughter, Lynn (Miller) Bruckner, son-in-law, William Bruckner, granddaughter Lauren Bruckner and grandson Zachary Bruckner, all of Lake Worth, FL. He is survived by his sisters, Betty Meintsma of Pierre, South Dakota and Jean Higgins of Ann Arbor, Michigan. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews located throughout the United States.
Family and friends will be received from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, October 13 at Dorsey - E. Earl Smith Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 3041 Kirk Rd, Lake Worth, FL 33461. Viewing will be 5:00 PM until 6:45 PM, followed by a prayer service at 6:45 PM at Dorsey- E. Earl Smith and then A Celebration of Life reception continuing until 9:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the American German Club of the Palm Beaches donation fund or the Broken Star Fund (PBSO) charitable fund.
